Deirdre Moynihan, Camp Director

Deirdre Deirdre-Leader PageMoynihan has been organizing events and managing people most of her life starting with an arts & crafts class on the family porch when she was about 8 years old in Burlington, VT.   Throughout her education from grade school through graduate school at Columbia University in New York City,  she was always organizing activities, parties, and leading her colleagues.   She continued in her professional career in professional theater as a producer and fundraiser and then transferred those skills to the nonprofit arena as a fundraiser and executive director.  She has been coordinating large bicycle events – recreational, racing and touring – for over 19 years. She is known for not only her creative thinking but her ability to quickly analyze and resolve problems.   She is devoted to the campers and helping them reach their goals. At camp, she is frequently seen with a golf cart full of happy, laughing campers.


Rebecca Gross, Head Coach – Mountain Bike

Rebecca grew up riding horses and playing in the woods. After college she spent eight years in the Air Force which took her all over the country and a few places beyond. Having raced mountain bikes in Colorado a few times she decided this was the absolute best place to live. Rebecca attended graduate school in Denver for sport and performance 
psychology and currently coaches grownups and kids in bike fitness and skills. Rebecca has been racing mountain bikes for over 15 years and is happiest outside on the trails, in the mountains, and sharing her love for the outdoors with others. Rebecca was the first American to win a cycling world championship on home soil in the 2012 Cyclocross Masters World Championships in Louisville, Kentucky.  Rebecca is a 2x collegiate mountain bike short track national champion giving her national repertoire three titles.  Rebecca resides in Golden, Colorado where she coaches and trains.

 


Jon Heideman, Head Coach – RoadJon H - Leader

Jon Heidemann was a competitive bike racer that completed over 2,000 all over the world. Jon won his own National Road Championship in the Masters 30-34 age group in 2001 and has stood on the podium at National Championship 8 times. Jon is equally interested in working with beginners and novice cyclists. Jon is a Elite-Level 1 Certified Cycling Coach with USA Cycling and has guided athletes of all ages, genders and physical abilities earning over 50 national and international amateur and elite level medals.  For the last 7 years, Jon has served as director of the USA Cycling’s Rocky Mountain Regional Talent ID & Development Road Cycling Camp. He also sits on the staff of USAC’s National Talent ID & Development Camp. He also directs 15-16 year-old Junior Teams (or Nieuwelingans) for USA Cycling twice yearly in Europe, based in Sittard, The Netherlands. He takes on this roll with honor as he is integral in preparing our nation’s best junior athletes to future elite level international competition.

When he is not on the road, Jon owns & operates Peak to Peak Training Systems; spends ½ of every week back in Nebraska working the ranch, and raising a family of 4 daughters.


ClintClint Bickmore, Advisor – CX

Clint Bickmore has a strong presence in the Colorado cycling community. Former President of the Board of Directors for Bicycle Racing Association of Colorado, he has been instrumental in the success of the Junior Development Program, and has served as Event Director for the Junior Camps for many years. Clint has three boys two of whom race road and cross and is a well-respected race director (Kick It, Schoolyard Cross). He holds a USAC Level 2 Coaching License. Professionally, Clint holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering and is currently working on a new bicycle helmet with Umbo Helmets. His volunteer work in 2012 was instrumental in working through the data issues that were encountered with the inclusion of USAC data.


Chris Wentz, Medical Advisor, Event Medical Specialists

In addition to staffing all Tri Velo Series events,  Event Medical Specialists provides invaluable guidance and input during the planning stages to ensure the camps are safe and the campers are well attended to at all times. Chris and Event Medical Specialists can be seen at many local events.
